The supposed conclave is going to start on May 7, 2025 and I thought I would share my thoughts on this site. Anything in this article is just the personal opinion of the author.
We know the following: there are 135 alleged Cardinals who could allegedly participate in a conclave.
Of these Cardinals, 27 have been nominated by Benedict XVI or John Paul II and are definitely Cardinals. Two of them have announced that they are not going to attend.
The other 108 have been nominated by Antipope Bergoglio. After Bergoglio nominated 70 of these Cardinals, Benedict either attended the consistory, or Bergoglio visited Benedict with them after the consistory, and Benedict blessed them, which could be interpreted as giving his implicit approval. The footnotes in this Wikipedia article contain references to all the visits.
18 “Cardinals” nominated by Bergoglio in 2023 and 20 nominated in 2024 are definitely not Cardinals. Among them is Víctor Manuel “Tucho” Fernández, the infamous author of obscene blasphemous books who was nominated by Bergoglio to head the “Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith”.
Will the conclave be valid? I don’t know, I am just a layperson and in this case, I don’t have enough evidence to decide one way or the other.
However, we know that Jesus Christ established his Church to be a visible institution. This doesn’t mean that everything is immediately obvious to everyone. But there exists an objective way in the world to find out what the truth is.
After Benedict XVI “resigned”, he continued to wear his white vestments, he kept his name, his address (“His Holiness”), and stayed in the Vatican. Meanwhile, Bergoglio has been visibly a heretic and an apostate. This wasn’t clear to most people, but the clues were there.
Looking back, Bergoglio’s first appearance on the balcony, starting with “Buona sera”was off. Not to mention the first months with a humility propaganda rivaling that of Hungarian Communist leader János Kádár (d. 1989): “He is sooo humble! He is feeding his chickens from his porch with potato peels! He is sitting on a seat eating darás tészta (a kind of home-made pastry)!” Now it was: “He is sooo humble! He is wearing black shoes instead of red shoes!” (see the book Újabb 101 történelmi tévhit (101 new historical misconceptions) by the Hungarian historian Péter Hahner, published in 2011)
It is my conviction that the Catholic Church will get another valid pope. Once the conclave concludes or soon after, we will get some sign or signs from God what the situation is.
